Each year since the downturn in the economy it has been more and more difficult to finance The Winter Wonderland

One of our main annual events where we treat more than 240 serious and terminally ill children from the various children's hospitals around Ireland to a Christmas day out they will always remember.

A huge thank you from the children of The Bubblegum Club to Asystec for saving The Winter Wonderland and making a difference to their lives.

Asystec have set up a donations page on Idonate.ie - please make a donation and you too can make a difference.

They will match Euro for Euro any donations made through Idonate.ie - so get donating (no matter how small the amount) it will be matched by Asystec so we gain on the double.

Thanks from the team at The Bubblegum Club and Merry Christmas.

Another thank you re: our birthday bash

Dear Peter & Sarah,

I'd like to say a huge thank you for the wonderful day we had on Sunday 17th August.
We enjoyed every minute of it.
Terry our fabulous Ferrari driver was just terrific, so kind to the kids and made their day.

The motorbikes, the band, the firemen, the gardai, the food, the entertainment, the weather (did you organise that too?) and the setting couldn't have been better.

It gave us and the children a great buzz.

Thanks again,

Laura, Sean, Katie, Peter & Sarah Dunne

I just wanted to send you a line to say a BIG thanks to you and all for a great day out Sunday.
Patrick was outside himself with excitement and we all really enjoyed the day.

I can only imagine the amount of organising, funding & planning behind the day that made it the success that it was.

You all are to be highly commended and from the Mammy of a little boy who has had a really tough time this past year, I am so grateful that he had such a brilliant day out, we all did.

Kind regards & sincere thanks once again,

Mary Gaughan

We hope you are all well.

On Sunday Archie, George & Isaac were privileged, along with 19 other children from across Ireland, to attend the 20th Anniversary celebrations for The Bubble Gum Club. This wonderful organization is run by Volunteers to provide children living with complex diseases or conditions extraordinary experiences!

On sunday we went to Weston Airfield in Dublin and all the boys were part of a convey of twenty six sports cars that then drove to Navan Fire Station to meet the Fire Fighters and have lunch. It was then back into the cars, through the lovely Town of Drogheda to wave to the locals and the masses of Garda who were managing the traffic! Archie said, "Ít was so cool"

We then all headed to Slane Castle for a barbecue with fabulous entertainment and great company!!

Archie's pilot for the day was a lovely man called Derek Kane and , even though he had the opportunity to swap cars, he insisted on sticking with Derek!!

So to Derek, all the other drivers the Bikers, the brilliant organisers, the many many helpers, sponsors and the team in Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe for nominating the boys to attend.........THANK YOU ALL.

The Bubblegum Club Celebrates 20 Years

23/7/2014

Good Morning to all the early arrivals at Weston Aerodrome, hope ye are all ready for 'one hell of a birthday bash'.

The bikers are registering for the annual Bubblegum Club Run in the hangar and as the families arrive and during the day we hope to have photos as it happens from Weston - on route - Navan Fire Station - Drogheda and Slane Castle.

We may even have video footage as well - Don't forget to check back

This year The Bubblegum Club celebrates 20 years in existence, we are combining our celebrations with our annual motorcycle ride -  out a major fundraiser for the charity.

Motorcycles will register 10 am on August 17th in a hanger at Weston Aerodrome specially donated for the event, registration is €20.

Up to 30 specially selected children will be given a special day out, they will get to ride in a high power sports car (Garda Escort) to Slane Castle via Navan and Drogheda towns to an extravaganza of entertainment provided by The 501st Star Wars Legion, Circus Acts and a BBQ at Slane Castle.

We recieive no Government support and rely heavily on the generosity of individuals to maintain the work we do, our Corporate support is down almost 85%.

Every year after the event people say if I only knew I could have got things donated for the BBQ.

If you know someone or a friend of a friend that can help the Charity by supplying any or some of the items listed (helps keep costs down), please Contact: Noel Donnelly or Richie Faulkner or post a comment on The Bubblegum Club Run Facebook page.

Many Thanks in advance. David Harris for and on behalf of the sick children whom we give outings to each year.

Scoil Bhríde Cork
The Bubblegum Club would like to thank the children of sixth class at Scoil Bhríde, Bandon Co. Cork who raised money for charity this year.

They went Carol Singing in the local supermarket and held a Cake Sale in the school. Some children also made a personal contribution to the fund.

They chose Bubblegum Club as one of the charities to support as it is an Irish charity specifically helping children. The children enjoyed the fund raising events and felt very proud of their achievement.

The photo shows the Charity Founder Peter Harris accepting a cheque from the class.
